Payment Issues Due to COVID-19 Situation
During this difficult time, Utica First is assisting customers having issues with policy payments and / or cancellations due to non-payment. Call us at 1-800-456-4556 and press "2" to be connected with our Billing Department. Due to an increased call volume, phone wait times may be longer than usual. Please be patient and know we are working hard to help everyone as quickly as possible.
On March 24, 2020, the Connecticut Insurance Department issued Bulletin IC-40. In accordance with this bulletin, Utica First will provide existing insureds with a 60-day grace period to pay insurance premiums so that policies are not cancelled for nonpayment.
On March 30, 2020, the Ohio Department of Insurance issued Bulletin 2020-07. In accordance with this bulletin, Utica First will provide existing insureds with a 60-day grace period to pay insurance premiums so that policies are not cancelled for nonpayment.
New York Policyholders
Governor Cuomo's March 29, 2020 Executive Order Number 202.13 ("EO 202.13") directed the Superintendent of Financial Services to promulgate emergency regulations. This emergency measure implements EO 202.13 by providing certain relief to policyholders, contract holders, and insureds who can demonstrate financial hardship because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our company has robust business continuity processes in place – we are confident in our ability to deliver our services to you uninterrupted. While we recognize the current COVID-19 pandemic is a dynamic situation, we have responded quickly to put in place best practices so we can continue to provide a high level of service:
- The majority of our employees working remotely and are continuing business as usual.
- We are conducting additional office cleanings to avoid risk of cross-contamination.
- The company has discontinued all business-related travel, including conferences, indefinitely.
- Finally, we have established strict guidelines for visitors to our building as we avoid in-person meetings at this time.
